CAW strives to take the best care possible of our AWSOM Interns. We require you to have Medical, Liability and Consent Forms completed before arriving on the property. Part of that process includes you (and your parent/guardians, if under 18) communicating specific needs or expectations with the AWSOM Program Director. If an injury or illness is manageable on site, then our Staff will help care for you, dispense appropriate medications, help you successfully isolate if necessary, etc. We will also transport to urgent care if necessary. Each situation is different, and the way each individual or family manages such times is different as well. Our goal will always be to keep you healthy and get you back to work as soon as possible. We are open to some job duties being changed and we will help you be and get well. We also do not have the resources or time to provide long-term care and so it may be that you need to return home for a while, or it may be you will be unable to complete your contracted time as an AWSOM Intern. Again, each situation and each individual/family is different and we will work through that together.

Under-age participants will be required to submit a signed Transportation Release form, indicating the parent/guardian's expectations for traveling with other CAW Staff as well as when they are permitted to leave Camp property. Even if an AWSOM Intern is over 18, we need to know where each Intern is at all times in case of an emergency, therefore they will only be permitted to leave camp the the approval of their supervisor, and the time off will be determined by the Guest Group needs and planned AWSOM activities.

Once work for the day is completed, Interns are welcome to leave Camp the evening before their scheduled OFF-DAY. If an intern requests to leave for an evening that does not precede their OFF-DAY, depending on what activities or work is remaining, this might cost them HALF of a "BANKED" OFF-DAY.

While we value family life and involvement outside of CAW, Interns are required to be actively involved in the day-to-day planned AND impromptu work and program activities. This is important for their growth as individuals and as part of the Camp community, and will have a direct effect on their summer success as part of the AWSOM team.

Being purposefully present with one another matters.

What am I allowed to bring to Camp?

If your online application is complete and submitted by the deadline (April 15), we will begin conducting interviews with each applicant who meets the basic qualifications of an AWSOM Intern. After the interviews are completed, applicants will receive an email informing them of their application status. How often do we get paid?

What kind of work clothes should I have?

Can I bring my gaming console?

Short answer: No. CAW has an X-Box and some games that will be shared among AWSOM Interns in their shared common space. We want you to get the most out of this opportunity to live at Camp, in God's beautiful creation, and find an opportunity to get away from your usual busy-ness and screen-time. Only allowing our purchased games also helps us to know what appropriate media is being utilized by our awesome AWSOM Interns.

What do I do with my medications?

Can my friends & family send me mail & care packages?

CAW does not manage the medications of AWSOM Interns. We expect that as a young adult working this job you are able to do this for yourself. However, we are willing to help you to be successful in this if necessary. If there are specific needs, please speak with the AWSOM Program Director.
